Founded in 2012, Institution Mixte Joseph Nestor Joasil (IMJNJ) was born out of the devastation and reflection that followed the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. Witnessing the immense need around them, including high rates of illiteracy and countless children unable to attend school, Joseph Nestor Joasil and his wife were inspired to act.
Driven by the belief that every child deserves access to education regardless of financial circumstances, they established the school to provide free educational opportunities to children who might otherwise never step into a classroom.
At its heart, IMJNJ is more than a school; it is a commitment to community. Having been shaped and supported by the very community they serve, the founders are dedicated to pouring back into it by investing in its greatest resource: its children. Through education, mentorship, and opportunity, the institution seeks to empower the next generation and contribute to a stronger, more hopeful future for Haiti.
